The first feedback interview is with a 14 year old girl. She is within my target audience, after looking at the demographics of the music video on you tube the main audience that the song attracts is between the ages of thirteen to twenty four.
The feedback I got from this interview about the first media text, my song, was that she likes the song a lot and she says that she imagines the music video to have fast short clips of people dancing and a lot of bright lights. This is relevant for the type of video i would like to create, I think the idea of using light and contrasting the light and dark fits with the idea of the chorus and the name of the song 'Hit the lights'. For the Rihanna video the feedback was about rating the video in different areas on a scale of 1 to 10. She gave a 10 for the Mise-en-scene in the video, as she felt that they fit really well with the song and video. I think that props and costume are very important for the video as it is important to give out the right message to the target audience. She also said that she particularly liked the fast montage sequences in the music video, but also thought that the slower parts of the video didn't fit in very well. She mentions that she prefers a narrative video, this is useful to find out what type of video people from my target audience will prefer.
Out of the four images she pointed out that she doesn't think that Taylor Swift suites the style of my song, and she think that Rita Ora suits it more, as she has seen her music videos and thinks that they relate to Selena Gomez and that kind of style. I found this interesting as i thought that Taylor Swift was the one that suited my chosen song the most out of the four female artists.
The 2nd feedback interview was with a 16 year old girl. She is also within my target audience however she isn't into pop music. She says that she thinks the song is alright but not something she would normally listen to, but still imagines the video to be quite fun and for there to be people dancing around. This is based on pop music video stereotypes as she hasn't seen the music video to the song before so this is based on what she expects to be in a pop music video.
Out of the four female artists that I chose as images for my influential media texts she said that other than Selena she thinks that Rihanna would suit the song best. This is also interesting as I didn't really think that Rihanna's bold image suits the kind of style that Selena Gomez has in her songs.
